Wine Tasting and Cooking Along the River

This excursion will take you to restaurant De Engel situated along the River Waal near Dodewaard. JCI Senator Chef Inno Venhorst has opened his restaurant exclusively for you and prepared the following programme for your enjoyment:
10.30 Welcome with coffee and “Engelbrood” (tr. Angel Bread) and introduction for the day
11.30 Cooking and wine tasting
13.30 lunch

Under the guidance of Chef Inno, the participants will cook a Dutch tapas lunch. During the morning the gastronome-sommelier will provide a wine tasting which will include a little viniculture.

After the workshops the food and wine will be served as lunch. A special way to learn from a professional then relax and enjoy this lovely restaurant. The wine will be matched to your delicious creations.

The mouth watering menu includes 4 courses of 2 dishes and coffee:

Tartare of herring with yoghurt and chives
Salmon bonbons with lime and butter

Eel potato salad with apple and spring onion
Small balls of fresh goat cheese with ham, honey and rye bread

Neck of Lamb with old brown beer and mushrooms
Stew (“Waterzooi”) with chicken, king prawns and vegetables

French toast with raisins soaked in brandy (“Boeren jongens en meisjes”)
Stewed pears with cream of vanilla
