Leisure: Racing day – Dakar Racer and Entrepreneur Tim Coronel, and indoor karting
This excursion takes you to Dakar participant Tim Coronel. He won the Dutch Citroën AX Cup in 1994, followed by competing in the Formula Opel Eurocup, the German F3 (1997), racing a Mitsubishi Carisma in the Dutch Championship, followed by a Lexus IS200 and Renault Clio in 2002. He won the Alfa 147 Challenge in 2003 and the Dutch Portsche GT3 Cup in 2005. From 2006-2008 het participated in the BMW 130i Cup, later the SEAT Leon Eurocup. In January 2009 Tim and Tom Coronel competed in the Dakar Rally in a Bowler Nemesis. Tim competed again in the 2010 and 2011 Dakar rally in a McRae Buggy and won the solo-class both times.
In his sport ‘home’, Coronel Kartracing in Huizen, he will lead you through the challenges of preparing for and participating to the Dakar challenge. As an experiment, he also has built an EV (Electrical Vehicle) Dakar race car
We will stay for lunch and afterwards, take the wheel ourselves for a kart competition with electrokarts.
