Workshop: Moving Mountains for people with Autism

On May 20th 2016, Niels van Buren (38) became the first male MS (Multiple Sclerosis) patiënt in the world who succesfully climbed the highest mountain in the world; Mount Everest!

Since the diagnosis, Niels’ life has changed dramatically. He is co-founder of the Mission Summit Foundation that raises funds for MS Research and co-owner of social enterprise Swink webservices.

Swink provides exceptional online marketing services for large companies and institutions by using the unique talents of people with autism. Swink wants to give autistic people equal chances on the labor market and therefore only employs people with autism.

In his workshop Niels will share the life changing experiences and most important lessons he has learned in his personal and professional life. He will talk about the challenges he faces in scaling up a social enterprise and present the participants with a challenge. The goal of the workshop is to work together on new ideas to scale up Swink to more then 100 employees within 3 years. The participants are asked to actively participate in co-creating new ideas.
