Experience Thrills & Spills at the JCI Wheelchair Rugby Workshop!

Get ready to smash stereotypes about physically impaired athletes. During our session, led by Amsterdam Terminators coach Reda Haouam, you will learn all about the exciting sport wheelchair rugby. To succeed at this dynamic, fast-paced game you’ll combine physicality and cunning with team work, communication and determination. Participants will also get the chance to experience how it is to use a wheelchair and hear how to get the most of life with a disability. But don’t worry, it’s also just a lot of fun!

Reda Haouam (31) is a wheelchair rugby athlete and coach of the Amsterdam Terminators. At the age of 17 he suffered a spinal cord injury while on holiday in Morocco. Determined to not let his injury get the best of him, he went through an intensive regabilitation process and as soon as he could went back to fulfill his personal and professional ambitions. While in his final year of college, he got picked for the Dutch national wheelchair rugby team and has captained the squad since 2009 at every international competition. He has also competed for several international clubs, including teams from London, Prague and Stockholm.
